| Too good to be true Sun, 29 Jun 2008 23:35:41 PDT The IR has been running a full page ad this week for a company purporting to teach people how to sell on Ebay and make lots of money. I have been more than a casual seller on Ebay for several years and attended one of these meetings several years ago out of curiosity. These are smooth-talking salespeople who make it seem as though you will make a fortune sitting in your easy chair by listing articles sold through a warehouse. Not true! They do not mention that hundreds of other people are trying to sell the identical articles, the extremely high cost of shipping and the Ebay and Paypal fees. They try to sell you a website and don’t forget you will need the costly service to take credit cards. Unfortunately, the people falling for this are the ones who can least afford it. As for the free digital camera, I am having trouble selling it on ebay for 99 cents because it is not even worth that! Please look at these ads as too good to be true. |
